Over 200 workers today protested against the Jammu and Kashmir government, demanding regularisation of all daily wagers and casual workers.
Protesters from Public Health Engineering department, Power Development Department (PDD) and J&K National Trade Union (JKNTU) protested near Press Club here against the state's policy on wage and recruitment.
"We demand regularisation of our services, framing of a new recruitment policy and release of our wages," a protester said.
Addressing the workers, union leader Gafoor Dar alleged that the government signed agreements but did not implement them on the ground.
"We are demanding regularisation of all daily wagers who are working since 1994," he said.
"On February 25, our workers will hold protest at Rajouri district and if demands are not met, we will hold protest demonstrations at all district headquarters of the state," Dar said.
