Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV), a wholly- owned subsidiary of Daimler AG, handed over the first set of BharatBenz staff buses to customers in Mumbai, the company said in a statement.
"With our already established after sales network and financing solutions in place, we are set to make a mark in the Indian bus segment", Daimler Buses India Managing Director, Markus Villinger said.
The company sees great potential in the Indian market especially with the impetus of infrastructure and smart city projects, he added.
DICV currently produces and sells above 9 to 49 tonne trucks for the Indian volume market under the brand name BharatBenz.

The company's bus plant at Oragadam near Chennai has come up at an investment of Rs 425 crore and produces BharatBenz and Mercedes-Benz buses.
The facility has a production capacity of 1,500 units per year scalable to 4,000 units.
The staff bus is the first of a range of BharatBenz buses being offered commercially.
