DICV manufactures FUSO trucks in five models across various categories -- medium, heavy duty, light and medium duty tonnage.
Since May 2013, the company has been exporting the FUSO range of trucks to Sri Lanka, Kenya and Zambia produced at its Rs 4,400-crore plant in Oragadam, which has an annual capacity of 36,000 units.
"As a part of first 15 export markets for DICV under new Asia Business model, the Tanzanian market is a key market in Africa. FUSO has a strong growth in Africa having presence in over 35 markets and almost doubling sales in the first two months of 2014 to 1,060 units from 580 units sold in the same period of last year," a company statement said.
"With the addition of this new range of trucks into its product portfolio, FUSO offers its customers a wider choice of Trucks that are robust, reliable and fuel efficient", it said.
Japan-based Mitsubisi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation and Daimler India Commercial Vehicles come under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia.
Daimler Trucks Asia expects to gain additional growth momentum in future markets on top of the existing current markets from its new Asia Business model introduced last year, it said.
