Radical Sikh outfit Dal Khalsa today attacked the SGPC for allegedly not adhering to the demand for the removal of Gaini Gurbachan Singh as Akal Takhat's Jathedar and said his removal along with two others was "essential" for peace within the community.
The outfit's senior leaders H S Dhami and Kanwar Pal Singh took exception to the decision taken by the SGPC's executive committee of not to remove the present incumbents.
The Panth at large has rejected the "disgraced" Jathedars as they have lost their credibility and trust within the community after they took "faulty" decision to pardon Dera Sacha Sauda Sect head Gurmeet Ram Rahim, the two leaders said.
"It's shame that the SAD-controlled SGPC is not respecting the feelings and concerns of a large segment of the community that no longer wants to see the present jathedars to remain on seat. Even the five beloved ones feel betrayed by the SGPC on this matter," they said.
They, however, added that they do not subscribe to the resolution passed by a Sikh congregation on November 10 that appointed Jathedars of the three Takhats without following any norms and procedures.
