The Dalai Lama today conveyed his condolences to the people of the Philippines over the death of thousands and extensive damage caused by super typhoon Haiyan.
In a letter to Philippines President Benigno Aquino III, the Tibetan spiritual leader expressed his sadness over the loss of lives and damage and offered his prayers for the families of those killed in the natural disaster.
As a token of sympathy and concern, a donation would be made from the Dalai Lama Trust to support relief work in the Philippines, where more than 10,000 people have been killed in what is considered to be the country's worst natural disaster.
