Dalit girl lured by youth into marriage

A youth was today booked for allegedly abducting a 16-year-old Dalit girl and trying to compel her to change her religion for marriage in Rajeev Colony area of the district, police said today.
According to Sahibabad police station SHO Upendra Yadav, the girl, in her complaint, today alleged that she was allegedly lured by his neighbour Subhan alias Sujaan (24), a taxi driver, on the pretext of marrying her, from outside her house on September 22.
The girl, in her complaint, further alleged that "Subhan pressurised her to convert to Islam before solemnising the marriage, to which she refused", Yadav said.

She said disgruntled Subhan then took her gold earrings and sold them and today he dropped her in front of Mohan Nagar temple.
Upon complaint of the girl, police has registered a case under Section 363 and 366 (Kidnapping, abducting or inducing woman to compel to marry) of IPC, the SHO said.
The girl has been sent to government hospital for medical examination to ascertain whether she was sexually assaulted or not during her captivity, he said.
Police teams have conducted raids in search of Subhan and search was on to nab him, Yadav added.
