Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and social activist Anjali Damania today termed the "nexus" between BJP ministers and tainted ministers of the previous Congress-NCP government as "unholy and height of opportunism".
Damania was prevented from holding protests to highlight the nexus and was taken into custody by Dadar police.
She claimed that they were granted permission by the local police to hold silent protests, however, officials under the pressure of their "political masters" did not allow the protests and detained her "undemocratically".
"This is appalling. Police had permitted me to hold silent protest here in Dadar outside the venue where Fadnavis and his ministers are present along with the tainted ministers of the previous Congress-NCP regime.
"But, due to the pressure from the political masters, police not only stopped me and my team from standing outside the venue, but also manhandled and dragged me upto the station," Damania told PTI phone from police station premises.
She alleged that her fundamental and constitutional right to protest peacefully and silently was "crushed" today.

Fadnavis was invited to attend a book release event at the famous Ravindra Natya Mandir in Prabhadevi where other political stalwarts like Sharad Pawar (NCP), Sushilkumar Shinde (Congress), Praful Patel (NCP), Ramraje Nimbalkar (NCP), Narayan Rane (NDA aspirant), Ajit Pawar (NCP), Sanjay Raut (Shiv Sena) and Supriya Sule (NCP) were invited to attend the event.
These people were invited by NCP leader Dhananjay Munde for the function to release the book written on Sunil Tatkare, current president of Maharashtra NCP.
Damania, who exposed the irrigation scam in the state framing Tatkare and Pawar, said, "The Fadnavis-led government came into power on the promise to send these tainted ministers to jail...but look what has been happening. Fadnavis and his ministers are very much cosy and comfortable with all previous ministers, who are facing criminal investigation."
"It is very much clear that all the political parties are hands in gloves and just put on a veil during the session which is extremely unfortunate.
"Fadnavis, when in opposition, had claimed that Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare would be in jail in 100 days after his government takes charge. The very CM who announced an open inquiry against them in irrigation scam is seen cosying up with them today," Damania lamented.
