The 42-year-old actor will star opposite Kidman in the biopic of Gertrude Bell, a woman who became highly influential to British imperial policy-making due to her skill and contacts, in a film which tells the tale of her involvement in the formation of the Middle East, reported Deadline.
According to reports, Lewis stars as an English war hero, Lieutenant colonel Charles Doughty-Wylie, who begins an affair with the leading lady played by Kidman.
The blonde beauty recently replaced her friend and fellow actress Naomi Watts on the movie.
Originally filming was supposed to start earlier this year however it has been pushed back to December when they will shoot in Morocco and 'Queen of the Desert' is scheduled for release in 2015.
