Dance-mime jugal-bandi by true angels of God

In a humanitarian initiative, invoking Charlie Chaplin slap stick style, over 50 exceptionally gifted children from different city belts wowed the audiences with their silent skits.
Having explored the no dialogue, non-verbal art form, the children, including those afflicted with cerebral palsy, took to dance choreography accompanied by beats.
"It can be christened as dance infused by mime or jugalbandi," Bijoya Dutta. One of the very few women mime artistes told PTI on the sidelines of the show being orgaisaed by Anubhav in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, government of India.
From hearing impaired to the mentally challenged, from those in red light areas to the underprivielged- the children are from different backgrounds.

"But all are children of God and precociously gifted. Our effort is to ignite the spark within them and don't let their talent go waste as they grow up," Krishna Dutta, one of the very few female mime artistes in the country and founder of Anubhavm said.
"One of the exceptionally gifted child actors is Suman, who has presented his own skit on dowry and made the audience cry with the portrayal of Nirbhaya incident in an earlier show. They should be nurtured and given exposure at global performingart meet to show how India work towards reviving a near-extinct performing art form like mime," she said.

"We wish to make our statement as artistes since art cannot be an isolationist art form," Bijoya said.
The group also gets ready to perform in Germany and US, Krishna said.
