Dance programme held to create record

Thousands of boys and girls today held a Bharathanatiyam programme with an aim tocreate a wrld record at the GTN Arts College grounds here.
As many as 2372 students participated in the 12-minute programme.
The choreograph of the dance programme had been designed for 30 Thirukurual (famous tamil couplets) under the title "A Global record in Ulaga Podhu marai(Global Tamil vedam-Tirukural).
The students danced explaining the meaning of the couplets through facial expressions and dance steps, officials said today.
Athista Balan, director of Adavallan Isai Tamil Trust said the 2100 students participated in the dance programe held at the same venue.
The recordings of the programme wouldbe sent to Asian book of records, Guinness book of records, Limca book of records and Assist book of records.
