The film, in which the 23-year-old actor portrays beat poet Allen Ginsberg, has been entered in the US Dramatic competition field and will receive its world premiere at the event, reported Daily Star online.
The movie also stars Dane DeHaan, Elizabeth Olsen and Michael C Hall, while Boardwalk Empire's Jack Huston will play a young Jack Kerouac.
Other films confirmed to screen in competition at Sundance include Octavia Spencer's drama "Fruitvale" and Rooney Mara's new movie "Ain't Them Bodies Grand".
A documentary about the Russian punk band Pussy Riot, who saw three of their members jailed for a satirical protest against Vladmir Putin earlier this year, will also receive its world premiere at the festival.
The 2013 Sundance Film Festival takes place in Park City, Utah between January 17 and 27.
