Daredevils owner Grandhi stands by players despite poor show
Press Trust of India New Delhi Delhi Daredevils owner Kiran K Grandhi met the entire squad yesterday ahead of their final home match at the Feroz Shah Kotla against the formidable Kings XI Punjab here today.
Grandhi, son of G M Rao, has been a regular feature at the team's matches quietly supporting them from the stands.
Yesterday, Grandhi met Kevin Pietersen and Co along with the entire support staff in the evening to express his solidarity with them and wished them luck for the remaining games.
According to reliable sources, the meeting was an informal get-together in owner's presence and Grandhi made it a point to encourage the team members.
"The get-together wasn't meant to be a critical one and Grandhi has never ever admonished the team. In fact, it was pleasantly surprising when he said that he would be happy if we win the remaining three matches and end the season with our heads held high. We were told that all we should try and do is to give our best shot," an insider told PTI today.
