Das highlights relevance of Guru Gobind Singh's teachings

Highlighting the relevance of the teachings of Guru Gobind Singh, the 10th Sikh Guru, Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today urged the people to follow them and bring about social reforms.
Inaugurating a three-day Prakash Parv, the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh here today, Das said people were not aware about the services and teachings of the Guru, who fought for equality and his struggle to dispel all ills in the society.
Underling the contribution of the Sikh community in development of the nation, Das said the community has played an important role in the economic growth of the country.
The Chief Minister said poverty still prevailed in the mineral-abundant Jharkhand, which needs to be wiped out collectively by following the path of Guru Gobind Singh and emphasised on the need for education of the girl child.
Besides Das, Union Minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy, state tourism minister Amar Bauri, Rajya Sabha NP Pradeep Kumar Balmuchu, BJP MP from Jamshedpur Bidyut Baran Mahato, Secretary (Tourism) Rahul Sharma and East Singhbhum Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar also spoke on the occasion.
CGPC president and chairman of the Organising Committee of the event, Inder Singh hailed the Jharkhand Government for organising the three-day Prakash Parv to mark the 350th Birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh, which attracted people from not only Jharkhand but also from other parts of the country.
