Russell, whose last film 'Silver Linings Playbook' won Jennifer Lawrence the best actress Oscar, is once again in the award season race with his latest film.
"We are thrilled to bring David O Russell's follow-up to his Oscar winning films 'The Fighter' and 'Silver Linings Playbook' to DIFF audiences this year. With one of the most exciting filmmakers working today at the helm, an outstanding cast and compelling story this is a film that is set to blow audiences away and end the 10th DIFF on a high note," Masoud Amralla Al Ali, Artistic Director, Dubai International Film Festival, said in a statement.
DiMaso pushes them into a world of Jersey powerbrokers and mafia that's as dangerous as it is enchanting. Renner plays Carmen Polito, the passionate, volatile, New Jersey political operator caught between the con-artists and Feds. Irving's unpredictable wife Rosalyn (Lawrence) could be the one to pull the thread that brings the entire world crashing down.
The film was produced by Megan Ellison's Annapurna and Charles (Chuck) Roven's Atlas.
