"Godown of Dilip Patakha House was raided and 10 boxes of crackers were seized. This is the same firm which had illegally stored firecrackers at its shop in Ranipura where the fire had broken out, in which seven persons lost their life," Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bihari Singh said.
Besides the godown, the illegal stock of crackers was recovered from four shops in this area, he said.
The incident occurred last afternoon, when the blaze started at the cracker shop and spread to the adjoining shop selling polythene bags and five other outlets.
Cracking the whip, Indore DIG Harinarayanchari Mishra today withdrew five police personnel, including a police station in-charge, from their field duties for dereliction of duty, in the wake of the incident.

"Central Kotwali police station in-charge CS Chadhar and four other police personnel from the same police station were line-attached (withdrawn from the field duty) due to carelessness (in monitoring the illegal storage of crackers)," the DIG said.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced aid of Rs two lakh each for the kin of deceased.
