Day temperatures rise in Himachal Pradesh; Una hottest

The day temperatures in Himachal Pradesh rose as the weather remained dry in the region as Una in Shiwalik foothills experienced the hottest day of the seasonwith a high of 41 degrees Celsius.

The mercury breached 30 degrees Celsius mark at many places and Sundernagar, Nahan, Bhuntar, Solan and Palampur recorded the maximum temperatures at35.2 degrees Celsius, 34.2 degrees Celsius, 32.6 degrees Celsius, 31.2 degrees Celsius and 30 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 29.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Shimla 25.6 degrees Celsius, Manali and Kalpa 22.4 degrees Celsius and Keylong 17.5 degrees Celsius.

The local Meteorological (MeT) Office has warned of rains and thundershowers, accompanied by squall and hailstorm in the lower and mid hills on April 27 and 28 and forecast dry weather in the region on April 29.

The MeT office also forecast rains and thunderstorm in the mid hills and rains or snow in the higher hills from April 26 to April 28 and again on April 30 and May 1.

The minimum temperatures also fluctuated marginally and Keylong in tribal Lahaul and Spiti district was coldest with a low of 3.5 degrees Celsius, while Kalpa and Manali recorded the minimum temperatures at 7.4 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius, followed by Bhuntar 12 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 12.4 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar and Solan 13 degrees Celsius, Shimla 15.1 degrees Celsius, Una 16.2 degrees Celsius.
