Day temperatures rose marginally in most parts of Himachal Pradesh as stormy conditions subsided even as a medium avalanche threat loomed large over tribal areas and other higher hills.
High altitude tribal areas and other higher hills had another spell of mild snowfall while Naina Devi in Bilaspur was lashed by severe hailstorm, causing extensive damage to crops.
Rohtang, Kunzam and Saach passes and Churdhar and Dhauladhar ranges recorded 10 to 20 cm of fresh snow while lower and mid hills had widespread heavy rains last night.
Saloni in Chamba district was wettest with 80 mm rains while Tissa and Nainadevi received 64 mm rains followed by Chamba 41 mm, Udaipur 23 mm, Kalpa 22 mm, Palampur 21 mm, Kukumseri 20 mm, Bharmaurand Renuka 19 mm, Jhandutta and Ghumarwin 18 mm, Dharamshalaand Dehra Gopipur 17 mm and Nagrotaand Sujanpur 16 mm.
Una was hottest in the region with maximum temperature at 31.6 degrees Celsius while Nahan and Kangra recorded a high of 28.4 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, followed by Sundernagar and Dharamsala 26.6 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 25.2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 20.4 degrees Celsius, Manali 17 degrees Celsius and Kalpa 8.4 degrees Celsius.
Minimum temperatures remained steady and Keylong and Kalpa in tribal Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur districts recorded a low of 1.6 degrees Celsius and 2.2 degrees Celsius while key tourist resort of Manali recorded minimum temperature at 4.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Shimla 9.1 degrees Celsius, Dharamsala 10.2 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 11 degrees Celsius, Solan 11.8 degrees Celsius, Palampur 12 degrees Celsius, Sundernagar 12.5 degrees Celsius, Nahan 16.9 degrees Celsius and Una 17.2 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or snow at isolated places in mid hills tomorrow and dry weather in the region for six days from tomorrow onwards.
