Days of fascist tendencies ahead: Vedike leader
Press Trust of India Mangalore : Dakshina Kannada district president of Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike, Suresh Bhat Bakrabail today said the cow dung attack on him by Bajrang Dal members on Tuesday was a glimpse of 'fascism' in the days ahead.
"Any attempt to suppress an individual's freedom of expression is a fascist tendency and the episode was part of it," he said in a statement here.
Three Bajrang Dal members were arrested for allegedly smearing cow dung on the face of Suresh Bhat, District President of Karnataka Komu Sauharda Vedike (Communal Harmony Forum), at a hotel here.
Bhat has filed a case of murder attempt against the accused in the Bunder police station.
Meanwhile the Udupi district unit of the forum staged a protest in front of the District Police office in Udupi on Wednesday against the incident.
