The company had reported a net loss of Rs 5.13 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
In a BSE filing, the Delhi-based DBSI said total income increased to Rs 422.96 crore in the July-September quarter of 2016-17 fiscal from Rs 264.55 crore a year ago.
The company's expenses also rose to Rs 355.29 crore from Rs 256.14 crore in the said period.
DBSI said the company has increased its production capacity of Kolhapur unit from 5,000 tonnes cane crushing per day (TCD) to 7,500 TCD and Ninaidevi unit from 1,750 TCD to 2,500 TCD for the the current sugar season 2016-17.
