Following allegations that individuals and organisations getting projects without obtaining formal work orders, Hailakandi Deputy Commissioner Moloy Bora has warned that penal action will be initiated against anyone indulging in such practices.
Besides, such individuals and organizations would also be blacklisted, Bora said in an order yesterday.
Individuals and organizations having connection with officials of the implementing agencies used to get project works in the district without fulfilling formalities like getting sanction or work order, a DC office spokesman said.
After completion of the work, they were regularised for receiving payment, the spokesman said adding the DC wants to stop this practice.
Bora also cautioned implementing agencies that they would be hauled up as being 'collaborators' for such unfair practices and action would be initiated against them also under the Assam Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management Act, 2005.
Several instances of unfair practices have come to the fore relating to MPLAD, MLALAD, Multi-sectoral Development Programme (MSDP) and PMGSY schemes, district administration officials said.
