Burnwal, who held a meeting with the DCs, SPs and Mining Officers of Santal Paragana region here said Chief Minister Raghubar Das has taken cognizance regarding illegal sand and stone mining and directed him to hold a meeting with the concerned officials in this regard.
He directed the Deputy Commissioners of the districts to constitute raids teams within a fortnight.
Responsibility of concerned Deputy Commissioner and Superintendents of Police would be fixed if they would fail to check illegal sand and coal mining, the Mining secretary said.
He warned that the equipments engaged in sand mining in regulated or non-regulated sand ghats would be seized.
Referring the illegal storage of sand, he said such sands would be seized and auctioned by the government as no one has the license for storage of sand.
Stating that all crusher machines in operation would be inspected, Burnwal said the number of illegal crusher machines in operation in Pakur, Dumka and Sahebgunj was more. Even the genuine crusher machines are being used to crush stones mined illegally, he said assuring stringent action against such illegal activity.
