In a letter to the LG, the DCW chairperson said she had raised several key issues in the first meeting of the Committee. "However, no action was taken on the issues raised by me."
"The Commission has not yet received the minutes of the meeting. Moreover, no communication with regards to the next meeting of the Committee has been received," she said.
"Crime against women in Delhi has increased. The Commission is receiving cases of extreme brutalities against women including serious trafficking cases, forced prostitution, child rape and gang rape among others," Maliwal said.
Maliwal highlighted some of the incidents that took place in the past one month including the case of an 18-year-old girl who was trafficked from West Bengal and raped several times in Delhi and other states and is now admitted in GTB Hospital with severe septic arthritis.
The first meeting of the state-level coordination committee on women safety was held under the LG's chairmanship on November 10.
