DCW sets up inquiry committee to investigate trafficking cases

The Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) has set up an inquiry committee to investigate a case of trafficking of 13 girls from GB Road here to Meerut.
"The DCW has set up an enquiry committee to investigate the case of 13 girls trafficked from GB Road to Meerut Kabari Bazaar Red light Area. These girls were rescued by NGO ShaktiVahini, which is a partner NGO of DCW Rape Crisis Cell and Meerut Police, on September 1," a statement said.
"During investigation, it was learnt that these girls were first trafficked to GB Road in Delhi and then later they were taken to Meerut Red Light Area. DCW will be recording the statements of the girl and will try and understand the atrocities that they underwent in Delhi," it added.
The Committee has been set under the chairpersonship of member of the commission Sarika Chaudhary and will consist of staff of Anti Human Trafficking Cell of the DCW and representative of NGO ShaktiVahini.
