"Prasar Bharati has informed that anti-India propaganda is received in the state of Jammu and Kashmir from across the border," Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni said while replying to a question in Lok Sabha.
"Doordarshan has been assigning priority to expansion of TV coverage in border areas across the country through various expansion plans formulated from time to time," she added.
Soni said special packages for expansion and improvement of Doordarshan services in Jammu and Kashmir and North Eastern states have been implemented. At present, 273 TV transmitters, of varying power, are functional in the border districts, she said.
She also said that programmes from radio stations of neighbouring countries were also heard in border areas.
"Strengthening of the coverage of All India Radio and Doordarshan networks along the border areas is an ongoing process," she said.
