Delhi Dynamos will be conducting open trials to pick talented young players to represent the club in the prestigious AIFF Under-16 Youth League in September.
The trials will take place on August 13 and 14 at the G19 Pushpanjali Farms and will be open for boys born between 2000 and 2002.
The players will be assessed by the youth coaches of Delhi Dynamos, under the supervision of Delhi Dynamos' Technical Director of Grassroots programme Shakti Chauhan and Raman Vijayan.
As many as 30 probable youngsters will be selected at the trials and will be trained by the grassroots coaches of Delhi Dynamos, Rishi Kapur and Pramod Rawat, and the Youth Football International coaches, Luke Voyce and Paul Schuttenbelt. The list will be pruned down to 22 players for the tournament to be held next month.
A total of 50 teams from across the country will be participating in the AIFF Under-16 tournament, including youth teams of all the eight Hero Indian Super League clubs.
"It is a great opportunity for kids from Delhi to be part of an open trial session like this. It not only gives them an opportunity to represent the Delhi Dynamos FC youth squad and kick-start their footballing career, but will also offer them a grand chance to be noticed by the AIFF. So I would like to urge all interested kids to give it their best shot," Shakti Chauhan said.
The tournament is in its second year of existence. It had started off an as U-15 league but has been converted into an U-16 Youth League this year, keeping in the mind the forthcoming FIFA U-17 World Cup to be held in India. A total of 39 teams participated last year, with Minerva Academy of Chandigarh emerging winners.
