DD to host classical music show together with Spic-Macay

National broadcaster Doordarshan in association with Spic-Macay will host a classical music reality show--"Naad Bed" with a total prize money of Rs 10 lakh.
'Naad Bedh- The Mystery of Sound' is a reality show which will cover the major streams of music--Carnatic and Hindustani and is aimed at encouraging youngsters to exhibit their musical talent, a release from Doordarshan here said.
Aspirants up to the age of 26 years are eligible to compete and preliminary audition and initial rounds will be held at the 20 regional DD kendras with the grand finale scheduled at Doordarshan, Mumbai.
Eminent musicians R Vedavalli, T V Shankaranarayanan, T N Krishnan and Vikku Vinayakram will be the judges for carnatic music while Parveen Sultana, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Pandit Shivkumar Sharma will judge the Hindustani Music rounds, it said.
There will be three sub-categories in the two streams -- Vocal, Instrumental and Accompaniment, it said, adding, the last date for submission of applications is July 31 and the entry fee is Rs 150.
