"The decision would cost Rs 30 to 35 crore to the ex-chequer. But, Rs 10-12 crore would be recovered through advertisements. That would not put much burden on the state government," Bapat told reporters at a press conference here while informing of the decision.
The appointments on various committees of the Assembly have been made and the committees would now initiate their work from May 26, he added.
Bapat, who is also the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection minister, said the state was taking adequate steps to delete 50 to 60 unaccounted LPG connections from the state's list which would help it get increased supply of kerosene from the Centre.
The minister further said that the issue of milk adulteration would now be brought under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA) Act.
"My department has made a proposal to make an amendment in law. But, it's a Central law and hence they have to consult the Centre before making such amendment," he said adding that the state Law and Judiciary department has been asked for their opinion on it.
