The area is spread over nearly 10.26 hectares of land near Patparganj, and the decision of redeveloping it was approved by the urban body in its authority's meet.
The Authority was apprised of the basic objective of the project apart from integrated development on transit- oriented-development (TOD) norms, which encourages development around a transport hub and calls for greater use of public transport system over private vehicles.
"The idea is to enhance environmental value and usability of the Sanjay Lake which has been deteriorating and shrinking day by day," the DDA said.
It will have mixed land-use development projects like old-age homes, recreational, sports, residential and commercial facilities, among others, it said.
"The project, as per the proposal, envisions a transformational role for the area, and it is expected that the creation of a city level destination near a beautiful lake will enhance the local economy and help catalyse change in the area and eventually restore a sense of safety and social pride in the masses in the locality," it said in a statement.
