DDA vice-chairman Balvinder Kumar, has revised the policy by incorporating more checks and balances, the urban body said.
One of the main modifications is to auction 15 sites of prime locations used continuously for marriage purposes. These sites were identified after a survey by DDA staff and after ascertaining the booking pattern of these sites. The auctions will be done within a period of two months and till the auction is conducted the sites will continue to be allotted as per the revised policy, DDA said in a statement.
The booking charges will also vary and will be Rs 8 per sqm for category 'C', Rs 10 per sqm for category 'B' and Rs 16 per sqm for category 'A, it said.
The period of booking has also been increased and booking will be done 120 days in advance (as against the present period of 90 days). Bookings done upto 60 days in advance will continue at single security rates whereas beyond 60 days the rate of security deposit will be doubled.
All the tent house owners and event manager's will be required to get themselves registered with the Contractor Registration Board (CRB), DDA, whose chairman is the chief engineer (headquarter), among other changes, it said.
The modifications in the policy were arrived at after holding meetings with all stakeholders like tentwalas, senior Officers of the DDA and the field staff accountable for such allotments.
