Four people including a senior sports journalist today appeared before Delhi Assembly's special enquiry committee probing alleged irregularities in cricketing body Delhi District and Cricket Association (DDCA).
Open for media presence, the meeting lasted for nearly two hours during which the sports journalist citing his decade long reporting experience levelled serious allegations against DDCA office-bearers.
Chairman of the enquiry committee Saurabh Bhardwaj along with other members questioned the scribe who made a lengthy deposition centering around alleged corruption related to selection of players, purchases and construction work undertaken at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium by DDCA.
Secretary of the Delhi Assembly Prasanna Suryadevara also questioned the journalist over his claims of regular talks with former DDCA president Arun Jaitley and charges levelled by him against the cricketing body.
DDCA member and a complainant Samir Bahadur also deposed before the committee alleging that Delhi Police sat over investigations related to alleged irregularities at DDCA.
A lawyer, who was called by the committee, recused himself from recording his statement citing a "conflict of interest" as he served as a retainer on DDCA's advocates panel.

Former cricketers Bishen Singh Bedi and Kirti Azad have appeared before the committee in December last year.
Bhardwaj said that next meeting of the committee will be held in the coming week.
"Today the senior sports journalist deposed before the committee in which he particularly mentioned the alleged corruption and irregularities in DDCA," he said.
The committee is expected to hold a few more meetings as people are coming forward with complaints and depose as witnesses, he said.
It will give its report after completing the enquiry which will be tabled before Delhi Assembly, he said.
