Sitapur district under the Gangster Act, today allegedly committed suicide in a police station here.
Acting on a tip-off, a police party picked up Bindra Raidas from his house here early this morning and took him to Misrikh Police Station where he was detained.
Raidas, who was externed from the district, allegedly committed suicide, police said.
Raidas's father said he met his son in the morning at the police station but was later informed that he had died.
SP (Sitapur) V B Singh had ordered a probe into the incident.
The body had been sent for post mortem, police said.
