The Beijing Third Intermediate People's Court also deprived Jin Fusheng of his political rights for life, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
On December 26 last year, Jin drove a Buick car into a pedestrian, leaving him slightly injured.
He then rammed the car into a crowd of people at the Beijing Workers' Stadium, leaving three dead, eight injured and three cars damaged, according to the court.
Jin, a 61-year-old Beijing native, felt dissatisfied after he lost a lawsuit before committing the random act of aggression.
