Death toll in bus-dumper collision rises to six

The death toll in the collision between a private bus and a dumper in the district went up to six with one more person succumbing to injuries today, a senior official said.
The incident had taken place 35 kms away from the district headquarters yesterday when the bus was on its way to Susner and collided head on with a dumper near Amarkot village on Indore-Jaipur national highway killing five persons on the spot and injuring 44 others.
The driver of the bus Suren Singh, who had received critical injuries in the mishap, succumbed to his injuries today, said Agar Malwa District Collector Durg Vijay Singh.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced an ex-gratia of Rs one lakh each to the kin of those killed in mishap, Rs 50,000 to seriously injured and Rs 25,000 to the persons, who suffered minor injuries.
According to the Collector, 18 of the injured have been admitted to Susner hospital, while 19 others in Ujjain and the remaining ones in Agar Malwa.
