Deborshi wins youth chess meet
Press Trust of India Kolkata Deborshi Mukherjee edged out IM Diptayan Ghosh in tie break to win the premier section of the Siddha Chess Youth Championship here today.
Both Deborshi and Diptayan were tied on six points, but the former was declared winner on account of his better Buchholz score.
Diptayan who earlier beat overnight leader IM Swayams Mishra of Odisha outplayed his school mate Mitrabha Guha in the final round and had to be content with second place.
Swayams drew against top seed GM Debashis Das to take the third spot with 5.5 points, while the latter who also scored 5.5 points was placed fourth.
