In a written reply to a question, the minister said neither the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) nor any other organisation is throwing away debris on the Yamuna riverbed and added that material already dumped there is being removed.
The Delhi Development Authority has conducted a study for development of Yamuna riverbed as per the recommendation of Master Plan and Zonal Plan, she said.
"The study of all natural features and site conditions has resulted in developing a conceptual plan and a structural plan for river front development, which provides integrated development along the reiverbed for bio-diversity park and recreational areas," Dasmunshi said.
The development work has beein initiated in a phased manner. Bio-diversity park near Jharoda Majra and Golden Jubilee Park near Old Yamuna Bridge are being developed in a phased manner.
Also, as per court orders, the DDA has put up display boards at the site warning against dumping of debris. Security arrangements have been enhanced.
Entry to the riverbed is barricaded to check vehicular movement. Field staff have been directed to ensure that the debris is not dumped on the riverbed.
