Debt-ridden man commits suicide in Raj

Upset over financial issues, a man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself, while his wife tried to set herself ablaze at their home in Jagdamba Nagar locality here, police said today.
Madhusudan (34), a tailor by profession, had an heated argument with his wife Lalita (30) over some domestic issue late last night after which they slept in separate rooms, police said.
This morning when Lalita went to check on her husband, she found him hanging from the ceiling in the room, following which she too attempted to commit suicide by setting herself on fire, they added.
"Seeing her husband dead, she rushed to the kitchen, poured kerosene and set herself on fire. She has been admitted to SMS hospital where her condition is critical," police said.

The couple have two minor daughters and lived with Madhusudhan's parents and brothers in the same house. They were facing severe financial problems.
