Some Government departments have unofficially pegged the combined losses in districts of Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam and parts of East Godavari at around Rs 1 lakh crore. Though the loss to human lives is minimal, the overall damage has been huge," the filmstar-turned-politician said in a statement here.
The Central and State Governments should make a scientific assessment of the destructive impact of 'Hudhud' so as to help all the victims, Chiranjeevi said.
The interim assistance of Rs 1,000 crore announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi for Andhra Pradesh was "insufficient", the Congress MP maintained.
