On the basis of a rigorous two-phase selection trial which concluded at the SAAP Stadium in Gachibowli here, Asian Games silver medalist Tarundeep Rai and Commonwealth Games gold winner Rahul Banerjee also made the Incheon-bound squad.
The former world No.1, Deepika had failed to make the cut to the India team for the World Cup Stage I and III earlier this year that kept the 20-year-old Ranchi girl out of race for a fourth medal on trot.
The duo of Banerjee and Deepika gave credit to Tata archery coach Dharmendra Tiwari.
"He worked with us for last two weeks and we both are grateful to him. It's really a huge relief," Banerjee told PTI as he's making a comeback since stage one of the World cup.
