Defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman visited the Indian Air Force Airmen Training School (ATS) here Saturday.
The minister inspected the training areas and establishments of the station.
Sitharaman highlighted the operational preparedness capability, and effectiveness of the Indian Air Force (IAF) in the recently concluded multi-nation exercise.
She lauded the force's swift response during flood relief operations in Kerala earlier this year.
The Minister urged personnel of the ATS to keep up the good work of training raw recruits into worthy air warriors.
Later, she interacted with the trainees and air warriors.

The Defence minister was received by Air Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief Training Command and Air Commodore R Ravishankar.
During the visit, minister was briefed about the significance of ATS, Belagavi and role and nature of training activities carried at the ATS.
