A defiant CP Joshi faction today conducted the EGM of Rajsathan Cricket Association (RCA) despite the cancellation declared by the body's general secretary Sumendra Tiwari.
In the Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) convened by Joshi faction it was decided to continue with the election process which was initiated by former election officer A K Pande.
The meeting also proposed the name of former chief election officer of Bihar, S K Rakesh as election officer and Anuradha Sharma as assistant election officer.
The Joshi faction claimed that 21 out of total 33 districts were present in the EGM.
The newly appointed election officer would immediately restart the election process and declare the modified election program on the lines of recommendations of Lodha Committee.
The day began with a drama at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium where the Joshi faction EGM was supposed to be held but the officials were not allowed inside by the police.

Rajendra Singh Rathore, who will be heading the five- member committee to deal with the affairs of RCA, said that the house further authorised the Executive Committee to take appropriate steps for the conduct of smooth election.
"The elections were supposed to be conducted following the provisions of Sports Act as well as the recommendations of the Lodha Committee. There was a meeting of the executives of RCA in which decisions regarding election was taken. It is also a fact that RCA was the first one to announce that it would adopt Lodha Committee recommendations," said Rathore.
"Out of 33 district associations 21 were present in today's EGM. Once the election process starts it cannot be stopped.
