Del govt facilitates medal winners of Asian & Para-Asian Games

Delhi government today facilitated the medal winners of the Asian Games and Para Asian Games, 2014 held at Incheon in South Korea.
Delhi Chief Secretary D M Spolia felicitated these sports persons with a shawl, citation and prize money cheque.
The 17 outstanding sportspersons include Abhishek Verma who bagged two medals - a maiden gold in the men's team compound team event (with Rajat Chauhan and Sandeep Kumar) and a silver in the individual category. He received prize money of Rs 34 lakh.
Wrestlet Yogeshwar Dutt, who won the gold medal in men's 65kg freestyle, received prize money of Rs 20 Lakh.
Rakesh Kumar (Kabaddi), Manjeet Chhillar (Kabaddi), Anup Kumar (Kabaddi) received prize money of Rs 20 Lakh.
Others include Yuki Bhambri (Tennis)and Bajrang (Wrestling) who were awarded Rs 14 Lakh while Sandeep Sejwal (Swimming), Bajrang lal Takhar (Rowing), Samresh Jung(Shooting) got a cheque of Rs 10 Lakh among others.

Sharad Kumar, Ankur Dhama and Ram Karan Singh (Para Athletics), Narender Grewal (Wushu), Divij Sharan (Tennis), Shreyasi Singh (Shooting) and Navneet Gautam (Kabaddi) were also facilitated.
Chief Secretary while giving away the prizes congratulated the sportspersons for bringing laurel to the country.
"While you win, the entire country feels proud of you and feels that the country is winning. It is a matter of great pride that these sports persons have brought laurels under the excellent guidance and supervision of coaches and infrastructure provided under the Sports Programme of the GNCT of Delhi, Directorate of Education, Sports Branch," Spolia said.
