BJP's Delhi unit today lodged a complaint with the State Election Commission, alleging "anomalies in delimitation of 12 municipal wards".
A party delegation, led by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Vijender Gupta, met Delhi State Election Commissioner S K Srivastava and secretary S S Gill to register their complaint.
The party claimed that in the case of 12 wards, areas falling under two different Assembly constituencies have been included in one ward. It is "wrong" and should be rectified, it said.
They also demanded that wards reserved for women and Scheduled Caste (SC) candidates be declared according to decreasing order of population of wards.
Leaders of three municipal corporations in national capital, controlled by BJP, were also present in the meeting.
Delimitation of 272 municipal wards, divided among the three municipal corporations, was notified recently by the Delhi government.
Municipal elections are scheduled to be held in April after the announcement of reserved seats for women and SC candidates.
