The police have arrested two men, who along with their accomplices, had allegedly barged into the residence of Tiwari in Lutyen's Delhi and attacked his staff members, following a road accident during the wee hours.
The police should conduct a "thorough probe" in the matter and refrain from passing it off as a reaction to a dispute between Tiwari's driver and some person over trivial incident of vehicle collision, a Delhi BJP statement said.
The CCTV footage from cameras installed at Tiwari's residence showed a group of men roaming inside carrying sticks and rods after his official car collided with another car near his residence in North Avenue area.
"The time of attack, injuries inflicted on 2 staffers of Tiwari apart from the abusive threats referred to Tiwari by the attackers shows it was a planned and police should reveal the identity of those involved in it," they said.
"It is a big threat. Hardly 100 metres away from the police station, the attackers entered into the residence of an MP and thrashed his staff. Police should not spare anyone involved in it," Tiwari said.
