The 'Bijli Andolan' rally is expected to involve over three lakh party cadres, legislators, councillors, members of all 14 districts and 280 mandal units, a Delhi BJP statement said.
"We are expecting more than four lakh people to attend this rally as a mark of historic protest against power tariff hikes," a BJP spokesperson said.
"Over the last couple of years, power tariffs have been hiked in the city by at least 72 per cent putting an unbearable burden on common households already bearing the brunt of very high inflation due to faulty policies of Congress-led UPA government at the Centre and the Sheila Dikshit government in Delhi," he said.
The party has formulated 19 special committees to prepare for the rally and two 'Chariots' with LCD screens have been made to expose the Sheila Dikshit government, by screening special films which exposes Congress dubious role in increasing power tariffs, it said.
