Emboldened by a High Court order in an NMCD pension case, Delhi BJP today asked Arvind Kejriwal to seek apology for leveling "false" allegations against party councilor Shobha, who is wife of BJP MLA Vijender Gupta.
Delhi High Court yesterday stayed a direction by Chief Information Commissioner (CIC) to Shobha, a councilor in North MCD, to explain how she had authorised disbursal of pension to a woman who was not eligible, terming the order "strange".
"The CIC order came on May 13 and the next day the AAP leaders and the Kejriwal government leveled allegations of Rs 2500 crore scam by the councilor. Chief Minister Kejriwal himself had alleged in Vidhan Sabha BJP was committing pension scam involving crores of rupees," said Gupta.
Kejriwal government hatched a "conspiracy" to defame BJP at the time of municipal bye-elections and now after the stay of the CIC order by the court "we ask Kejriwal and his government to seek apology from the all the municipal councillors", said Delhi BJP president Satish Upadhyay.
