Delhi committee of Indian Federation of Trade Union (IFTU) and its Contract Labour Unit today condemned the removal of Sanjiv Chaturvedi, ex-chief vigilance officer AIIMS, by the Union Health Ministry.
The members of IFTU demanded reinstatement of Chaturvedi, saying the officer has been instrumental in exposing many scams and irregularities in AIIMS and had helped to regularise contract labour in the institute.
"It is an assault on an upright honest officer who has been trying to expose many scamsand getting the guilty to be booked.
"He has helped us by trying to regulate contract labour in AIIMS particularly in security (ward and watching) services. With constant efforts he forced AIIMS pay more than 2 cores as PF dues of a previous contractor, Prehari Protection System.
