The case pertained to an amount claimed by a contractor as payable by Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC), for construction of its office Rajiv Bhawan at Rouse Avenue in 2004-05.
"We paid the amount for construction work to the actual contractor. We have approached High Court regarding the claim of non cleared amount," said Chattar Singh, senior Delhi Congress leader.
The plaintiff in the case, Vinod Goel claimed that his payment for construction work was due on DPCC.
Rajiv Bhawan was constructed in 2004 and handed over to DPCC in 2005, Goel said adding that a bill of Rs 57 lakh certified by chartered accountants was raised by his company 'VG Constructions'.
"The amount has now grown to nearly Rs 95 lakh due to addition of interest on the original amount," he said.
The team found the main gate of the Rajiv Bhawan closed. Congress workers had gathered at the spot in large numbers as the team reached there.
