The Delhi unit of the Congress party has decided to stage protests outside metro stations in the city tomorrow against the recent increase in its fare.
And it has found a novel way of doing this.
The party has modified a bus as a 'Save Metro Rath' and will take it to various metro stations to protest the hike in fare.
Delhi Congress chief Ajay Maken unveiled the 'Rath' today. It will start its journey from Akshardham Metro Station tomorrow morning, he said.
"Kejriwal and BJP have made Diwali bitter for the people of Delhi through the hike in the metro fare," Maken said.
He alleged the two parties have indulged in "dirty politics" and will "destroy" the Delhi Metro.
The fare hike which came into effect on Tuesday, has increased ticket prices by Rs 10 for all travels beyond 5 km.
The hike in fare comes within five months of the last one.
