The Delhi Congress today demanded that the Central Government should immediately roll back the hike in cooking gas prices.
The Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee (DPCC) will hold a protest demonstration and chakka jam at the Uttam Nagar Bus Terminal tomorrow under the leadership of DPCC president Arvinder Singh and chief spokesperson Mukesh Sharma.
They will also stop metro trains running from Dwarka to Vaishali at the Uttar Nagar station as a part of the protest.
"The BJP-led Central Government's anti-people decisions, one after another, have broken the backs of the poor people, due to soaring price rise.
"By hiking the price of cooking gas, the Narendra Modi-led BJP Government has not only disturbed the home budgets, but also because of its inefficiency, prices of other essential commodities like potato, onion and sugar have been soaring as never before," said Singh.
He also said that the people are fed up with the power and water crises and are now feeling helpless under the BJP rule.

BJP leaders had made tall promises during the Lok Sabha elections to garner votes, but now they were backing out from the promises made to the people, Singh said.
Taking a jibe at the BJP-led Central Government, Sharma said, "through its bitter decisions, the government is giving "Modicine" to the people".
He alleged that the BJP was giving open protection to black marketeers and hoarders in Delhi, and because of that, the prices have been rising rapidly.
He said the prices of essential commodities have also risen because of the MCD's decision to hike toll tax on goods transport vehicles.
He alleged that the BJP leaders have totally forgotten the people of Delhi, development works have been stopped, and Delhi was now witnessing a Jungle-raj like situation.
If the price rise is not checked, the party said it will agitate in all parts of the city and will not hesitate from holding a Delhi bandh.
