Confirming the developments, special cell police inspector of Delhi police Shiv Kumar told media that Nagori was wanted by them in a thirteen-year-old case.
"In 2001, a case of unlawful activities had been lodged against him in Delhi. But since he never turned up during the court proceedings, we came here to take him into custody for further investigation," said Shiv Kumar, who was accompanied by another officer of special cell.
When his name surfaced during the investigation, Gujarat police took him into custody from Madhya Pradesh and lodged him in Sabarmati jail. Since then, Nagori, alleged to be a close associate of Indian Mujahideen chief Yasin Bhatkal, has been in Sabarmati jail for the six years.
After arriving here, Delhi police approached the city sessions court to acquire Nagpri's transfer warrant. Later, during the afternoon, Delhi police went to Sabarmati jail and took custody of Nagori after submitting the warrant issued by the sessions court.
